How can a new brokerage firm distinguish itself on the market?

When preparing to open a brokerage firm, Raiffeisen Polbank sought to build a competitive advantage in the area of user experience. Raiffeisen Polbank asked us to develop an online solution that would distinguish its brokerage firm on the market.

During ethnographic research, Touchideas’ designers observed the behaviour of investors during a day of stock market activity. One of the key needs we discovered was that investors, who were under a lot of time pressure during the session, were looking for ways to speed up transactions.

To address investors’ needs, we designed a user interface inspired by solutions applied in professional dealing rooms. A rapid ordering bar enables investors to make instant transactions without taking their hands off the keyboard. One simply enters the abbreviated company name, the type of transaction, the number of shares and the price threshold, and the system will accept the order for execution. For instance, ‘KGHM K 100 149’ means: “I want to buy 100 KGHM shares at no more than PLN 149 per share.”

This new solution reduced the number of steps needed to place an order from 10 to 3, giving Raiffeisen Polbank customers a competitive advantage in the continuous quotation system.
