A Strategic Reboot of Poland’s Oldest Beer Brand.
Warka’s brewing legacy stretches back to the 15th century. In 1478, it was granted exclusive rights to supply beer to the court of the Duke of Masovia, an early mark of its quality and prestige. This makes Warka the oldest beer brand in Poland.
Fast forward to today — Warka ranks fifth in the Polish beer market but lacks a clear identity and emotional connection. Grupa Żywiec asked us to change that and give the brand a bold new direction.
Heritage meets modernity
The name “Warka” comes from warzenie (brewing) and once referred to a historical unit of measure used in beer making.
We reimagined Warka’s heritage for the modern world, crafting a new identity that is bold, straightforward, and confident.
We brought the historic year 1478 into the brand’s hero mark, proudly anchoring Warka’s legacy in the now. The phrase „Duma Miasta” (“Pride of the City”) and the city gate celebrate Warka’s local origins.
At the heart of the rebrand is the Warka Shield — a symbol inspired by medieval heraldry and modern sports clubs. It embodies strength, loyalty, pride, and a sense of belonging.
A striking new visual language, built around two bold shades of red, gives Warka immediate shelf impact and distinctive brand recognition.
FROM GENERIC TO ICONIC
Warka has transformed from an average beer with a generic presence into a brand with depth, character, and confidence.
A beer with a story.
A beer you can rely on.
The boldest member of the Warka family received a design as intense as its taste. We increased the contrast, introduced refined gold accents, and highlighted its strong, confident character.
